First area day

After a month (more or less) of missing the activity that consumes and occupies my Saturdays, it has already come back!

Yesterday we had our first area day for this semester.

The day didn't start quite well. I was half an hour late (for reasons I wouldn't dare disclose here. My mom might read this. Oops...did I say my MOM?). All my co-tutors were just about to leave when I arrived. I was really pissed at the turn of events, and the hot weather didn't help either.
I was only able to pacify myself by the help of the two sweet things given to me by Kuya Jericho. (Thanks for those lollipops, Kuya Jericho! :)).

As we were walking under the hot sun, we were all wondering why it didn't feel anything like the Christmas season. It was so FRICKIN' hot. It was supposed to feel a bit chilly even at noon. There's always something wrong with the weather in the Philippines, afterall.

While in the jeep, we remembered our first area day last semester. We remembered how we went past our destination. We reached Anonas, and it was, like, nearly 50 meters away from school. And we were also late back then. But not all things were the same as the old days. Several new faces were in the jeep with us-- Kacie, Carl, Xianne, Jaja and Cathy.

When we arrived, the kids were more than happy to see us.

If there's one thing that changed, it was that the kids were more energetic. I don't know what has gotten into them. Whether they were very excited to see us, or they ate something weird, we wouldn't know...but nevertheless, we were also happy to see them.

We had new buddies this sem, and each of us also had new sets of kids to teach. I'm still going to teach English, and my new buddy Kacie will be teaching Math.

I'm really glad that the area is back. It's the only way I can get to do what I love doing---to teach others what I know. I rarely get this chance nowadays. Thank God for Saturdays.

There are things that are bound to be new...even for old projects like this.

~~~
as for the last statement...
Kacie is an ABSOLUTE proof for this fact.
A newfound reason to stay in the GR, am I right, Kassa? *snickers*
You summoned me, yes?
